Homecoming 2026: Helston’s One‑Day Uprising of South West Metal is coming....
Helston, Cornwall will host one of the South West’s most explosive one‑day heavy‑music events as Homecoming lands at the Blue Anchor Inn on Saturday 26th September. Bringing together a who’s who of the region’s finest metal and rock acts, Homecoming promises a full day of high‑energy performances, scene unity, and the unmistakable intensity the South West is becoming known for.
Ahead of the big day, From the Pit chatted with Cobermouth frontman and creator of the Homecoming event Adam Jones to talk about the vision behind the festival, the evolution of the South West heavy scene, and what fans can expect when the doors open.
Homecoming stands as a celebration of the community, the bands, and the loyal supporters who continue to push the region’s heavy‑music culture forward — all in one unforgettable day.
Cobermouth's Adam Jones-Homecoming 2025
When I asked Adam what inspired him to expand Homecoming from a single‑stage extended gig into a full two‑stage, all‑day festival for 2026, he immediately pointed to the influence of Helstonbury. He explained that the annual charity festival had been crucial for Cober Mouth, giving them a platform to develop their stagecraft and showing him exactly what the Blue Anchor venue was capable of.
Helstonbury runs two stages from Thursday through Sunday, and Adam said that if Homecoming could achieve even half of that scale in a single day, he’d be thrilled.
He added that the South West scene has some real heavy hitters willing to travel down to Cornwall purely because of the energy the community brings — and that it’s an honour to provide a platform worthy of them.

And Homecoming’s 2026 lineup reads like a roll‑call of the South West’s heavy elite, with Cobermouth leading the charge alongside Lacerta, Carrier, Fight the Champ, Simbulis making the trip down from Derby, Apathy, Born in Dissonance plus a whole host of others.
It’s a stacked bill of genuine heavy hitters — the kind of lineup that shows exactly why Helston has become a focal point for the region’s metal and rock scene.

When I asked Adam why The Blue Anchor is the right home for a festival as intense as Homecoming — and how he balances the venue’s heritage with the chaos of modern heavy music — he spoke with real affection for the place.
Although he’s since moved to Bristol to be closer to the wider UK scene, he insists Cornwall has some of the most dedicated metal fans in the country. He pointed out that transport, location and finance have always been barriers for Cornwall’s live‑music industry, yet The Blue Anchor has remained a southern stronghold for decades.
Adam said many of his own motivations as a performer come from the shows he saw there growing up — a young metal fan who felt distant from the bigger scenes beyond South Cornwall, suddenly finding a 600‑year‑old granite‑and‑flagstone venue packed with hundreds of people across all genres.
That contradiction, the ancient walls holding modern chaos, is what gives the place its identity. After the first Homecoming — a free test‑run that packed out instantly, followed by a ticketed show that sold out — Adam knew the metal fans were there, ready to support something bigger. Now, he says, it’s simply a matter of raising the bar and growing the event year after year.
Lacerta- Homecoming 2025
When the conversation turned to Adam’s philosophy for choosing bands for this year’s Homecoming — a lineup that blends established South West heavy hitters with rising names — he explained that the festival naturally grows alongside Cober Mouth.
As the band steps onto bigger stages, they meet bigger acts, and if this year goes well, he expects another jump in scale with even stronger headliners and supports. Networking at shows has been fundamental not just for their career, but for discovering hidden gems and rising talent across the scene.
By combining hype around major names, beloved local favourites, and the excitement of discovering new bands, Homecoming creates a lineup that makes South Cornwall stand out.
Adam summed up their booking philosophy simply: heaviness, variance, familiarity and discovery — the crowd should never hear the same sound twice, but the intensity should never drop.

When the topic shifted to the challenges of running Homecoming 26, Adam admitted that the festival is essentially run by a “team of two and a dream” — himself and Cober Mouth drummer Dylan — backed by a small army of friends who jump in to measure doorways, post flyers, and give brutally honest feedback on ideas.
Rotten Records chip in with promo, and the Blue Anchor crew keep the whole operation grounded, but organising and funding a festival with just the two of them is, as Adam put it, “a heroic level of chaos.” Still, he’s committed to growing Homecoming without compromise.
And when the doors finally open, he says the best moment is simply knowing the admin is over — and getting to see the Blue Anchor, and his hometown, at their absolute best as the live music scene comes alive around them.

Looking ahead, Adam said the future of Homecoming is still an ongoing discussion, but the desire to keep The Blue Anchor at the heart of the festival remains as strong as ever.
He explained that they’ve been given a rare opportunity to grow the heavy‑music scene in South Cornwall, and they’re determined not to overstep or underestimate what makes it special.
Ideas like additional events at new sites, expanding to multiple days, or bringing in even bigger bands are all on the table, but for now they remain hypothetical.
Adam couldn’t reveal anything concrete about 2027 just yet, but he promised that the bar is being raised again — and that key details will drop shortly after Homecoming 26 wraps up.

Last year’s Homecoming proved exactly why Helston has become a genuine force in the South West heavy‑music scene. The Blue Anchor was packed wall‑to‑wall, the energy never dipped, and every band delivered the kind of performances that made the day feel like a landmark moment for Cornwall’s live metal community.
With only a few tickets left at the time of writing, Homecoming 26 is shaping up to push things even further — bigger names, louder crowds, and that unmistakable atmosphere that made last year unforgettable.
A huge thanks to Adam for taking the time to chat with us and share the vision behind the festival’s growth. From the Pit will be there this year, capturing the chaos, the community, and the sound of a scene that refuses to stand still.
Helston is ready — and Homecoming is about to make its mark all over again.
